iMarket Live Forex Trading. Is it worth it?

Not sure if this is the appropriate community for this but here goes nothing.
I recently got involved with IML which is a platform that teaches people how to forex. The catch? You have to pay a joining fee followed by a monthly fee. To dodge the monthly fee, you gotta bring in more people. It's a vicious cycle.
So why am I posting?
Is IML worth it. Obviously the people that brought me in will tell me it's not a scam. I find myself being pushed to recruit to bring people in. While there are opportunities to learn forex, the amount I've made so far is paltry.
There are opportunities to learn but the information is so much. And they keep pushing you to buy their products, i.e. gold cup? Which helps track trades better.
Right now, I don't know to trade and just receive signals on when it's a good time to trade. There's a groupchat/ support group but with 500 people, it's hard not to get lost in the sauce.
Condensing everything I've said:
TL;DR- I've recently gotten involved with IML forex trading and I'm wondering if joining up with this company to learn and do forex is actually worth it.

(IML) Be careful from this forex trading program. You will see people post graphs and bank account but its all a show.

With International Market Live (IML) you need to pay 200 a month for a program to "predict" foreign exchange and crypto. But the profit doesnt cover the cost and they tell you to get 2 people under you then it should cover it. I havent seen any post about it here so just want to spread the word.

Is forex easy?

I’m new to forex and have been learning about it through babypips for about a week. I’ve seen my friends partner groups like “IML” claiming how easy it is and how they just copy and past signals and are getting free money essentially. Can any of you experienced traders speak to the validity of their claims of “forex being easy,” and explain your experiences?

Is IM Academy a pyramid scheme?

So, I have recently been contacted by affiliates of this company and I have been digging around the web abort this.
I found some information claiming that it's a scam and it focuses more on network marketing/recruiting rather than actually trading or teaching how to trade properly.
I also found some information backing it and I see a lot of viability on it and it appears to be a legitimate company where you can really thrive.
I would like to know your opinion on this

Instagram forex traders will not make you successful.

I feel like I need to have a rant.
I have been trading for just over a year now and I have just started to become profitable. What made me profitable? Blocking out all of the rubbish that comes from forex Instagram. I didn’t find a fancy new strategy. I’m using the strategy that I formed in the first 3 months of me trading. So why only now am I starting to become profitable when I knew about the strategy almost a year ago?
Because i chose to digest information coming from instagram forex traders.
I’m not talking about the obvious scammers you see on your Instagram feed such as IML, broker commission marketers, or any of the likes. I’m talking about the select few that portray themselves as trading veterans and are popular in the trading community. They are constantly posting on their stories/profile 24/7. At least once a day they will post something like ‘only 2 slots left In my mentorship’ or ‘come join my free telegram channel’. Warning: if a trader you follow is trying to promote something, even if it’s just for Instagram followers, unfollow them. They will not help you become successful.
So I had my strategy by month 3 of trading. I backtested it and it worked. But I started taking advice from these traders, I got my hands on a few of their courses and my trading began to fail. Every single course was pathetic. Never showed any live trading. No proof of anything. Always making excuses of why they can’t tag their MyFxBook.
I unfollowed all these ‘traders’ and now I am profitable.
Rant over.

Fear of being wasted potential

Hello y'all,
First time posting here. I'm a fellow INTP 5w6. I am currently a Mechanical Engineer Major. I'm a sophomore in my major. I'm 20 about to turn 21. As the title says I fear of being wasted. I chose Mechanical Engineering because it's the only career choice I do like, the whole engineering process is amazing and I really do enjoy engineering, but i've lost all hope and motivation in school. I'm tired of studying and wasting my time in school. I've failed 5 different classes and repeated 3 classes 3 times, and basically have been stuck in my sophomore year for a whole 3 semesters. Failing those classes has put me on academic probation. I don't want to go to school anymore. Don't get me wrong I am grateful to be going but I just feel like engineering might not be the choice for me.
I've tried looking at other majors but none of them interest me as much as Mechanical Engineering does. Also I sorta don't want to switch majors because it feels like i'm taking the easy way out and being a waste of potential, and in the future i'll regret it. I know I can definitely graduate as a mechanical engineer, but like I said I have no motivation to keep going.
Things i do enjoy is finance, such as the stock market and forex. I actually enjoy learning about the stock market, forex, building business from nothing to something big. I really enjoy marketing and making a company big. I would consider myself a entrepreneur. Not the I just spent my entire paycheck on a designer belt and watch Gary Vee (no hate to Gary Vee, he actually has some good content but yall get the point) and post inspirational quotes influencers on instagram "entrepreneur." I'm talking about a real entrepreneur. I'm always on the lookout for new business ideas to make more money on the side.
I've started a couple businesses that are doing well at the moment.Im also in the stock/forex/crypto market. (NOT IML. Actual trading on analysis not getting people under me) I'm doing good in it, actually pulling in some profit each month. I haven't had much time to put more focus on the businesses and scale them higher, since most of my time is focused on the high demand of school trying not to fail again and working trying to pay for school.
Sorry for the long rant.
This is my current situation, I was hoping yall had some advice?
What are my fellow INTP's careers?
Thank y'all for your time reading this huge wall of text.

IML the Forex MLM

I follow a bunch of them Instagram for giggles and I am baffled by their lifestyles. There are 19 and 22 years olds claiming to be millionaires and making $100,000 a month. If this is true I feel so bad for the people that are paying to be apart of this MLM. The wealthy ones seems so busy shopping, going out to eat, penthouse shopping, and traveling that it’s hard to believe they actually trade. The members of the MLM seem to pay $235 to join and also pay some monthly fee. One woman said she had over 60 people on her “team” smh. They are so sly and/or aggressive in their marketing tactics. Are any of you aware of this MLM or know of anyone involved?

IML has taken over my sister's, cousins', and friend's lives. I'm actually terrified.

First I saw my cousin got into it. He grew up in the ghetto but worked his way out by joining the Marines, going to college, and getting a job in Wall Street. He's always been very ambitious about becoming a millionaire. I've been following his instagram and over the years this forex trading and MLM lifestyle has gotten him obsessed. He's a chairman with a Miami flex pad and everything. It's awful. He recruited my sister and other cousin. Now my sister works under him and it creeps me out how he's making royalties from her. She is umemployed now and does not seem to be seeking employment, which scares me even more.
One of my closest and dearest friends has also fallen for this scam with IML. He's aggressively trying to recruit me. He's recruiting his cousin and sister. It has gotten to a point where I literally cannot hold a conversation with him without it becoming about IML. Like today I was literally just trying to talk about anything else, and he brought out his trading journal and was explaining it all to me. I trade on my own and have explained to him I'm not interested in doing it in an organization. When he saw I was not a good target, then he started telling his cousin the same thing. I'm so concerned cause given he showed me the numbers and does not have a lot of money, I see he's not breaking even with the fees.
I follow their instagrams and see the basic formula from all sides. My cousin who is some kind of Platinum Chairman(?) will post a picture of his "luxury" apartment, pictures trading, promo for his zoom calls, "Shootout to my friend for making Chairman X." It's such a formula. My sister is the same except she doesn't have the money to even pretend to flex.
And a lot of the memes they post are so CULTY! If anyone opposes them or talks about how unethical MLMs are, they're against your happiness and wellbeing. That just drives you into seeing your trading buddies as "family". This is some sick shit and in a matter of a year, it has touched so many people in my life. I'm genuinely scared right now and don't know what to do...

IML/IM ACADEMY/TRADEHOUSE/FOREX

I have been involved with an organization called Tradehouse that is affiliated with the popular MLM IML/IM MASTERY ACADEMY/whatever name they go by now... sadly for a few months now. If you have any friends or family that are involved with either of these entities - please get them out if you can. They have probably already been roped in and indoctrinated with the language that the community uses (which often includes every clap back and argument in the book) but please try anyways.
They get you in by leveraging the higher ups in their organization ("chairman") and showing them live their lavish lifestyles.. and imply that you can too. As soon as you're welcomed in you're lovebombed and called "family" by everyone in this massive telegram group chat. And then it's radio silence right after. You're assumed to learn everything that you can about trading on your own. And soon you realize it's impossible because retail trading involves SO much risk.. which is exactly why many DON'T... lmao. You're literally trading against big banks and hedge funds. And if you don't know anything about trading let me tell you something that you might not know yet - for every winner or winning trade there is a loser. Banks can afford to trade because they are going in trades from both positions and skimming off the top of the profits. Retail traders? Yeah we aren't so lucky lol. So you realize that trading isn't as easy as it seems.. but your monthly payment is coming up and you have to do something. Here is where they get you - once you sign up (RECRUIT) two people you get your monthly fee waived (mind you.. JUST FOR THAT MONTH). The pressure is then on you to flex a lifestyle you don't have yet, in order to sell people a dream you aren't even living. All to avoid a monthly charge that they are going to have to handle unless they start the same cycle.. It's honestly horrible.
The whole thing is just slimly. Everyone that is brought in is indoctrinated and taught to say the exact same things, just mindless robots. "Its all about the mindset if you're losing it's on you" "Forex isn't a scam" "broke mindset" just the dumbest stuff..
I’m making this post to anyone on here that was like me, just looking for all the information that they could about what they think or thought seemed like a good idea, but suddenly doesnt.. your conscience knows. It’s okay to get roped into these things, they are marketers after all. You aren’t stupid for joining or inquiring, and if you’re in it already like me you can make it out. You’ve already done the first step and that’s look outside of the bubble.. time to pop it.
Anyone that has any questions about the above groups, advice or stuff you’d like to hear about my experience please drop it in the comments. I’m not sure how reddit works still lol but I’m always free to help.

Thoughts on FairForex Broker

Hey guys/gals. I’ve kinda got two questions in here, the main one is about FairForex though. Anybody have any experience dealing with them? I know they’re offshore/unregulated and that can be sketchy/has potential to be fucked. But the group I’m with all use them and have good things to say. 1:400 leverage, only a minimum of $100, and decent spreads. Not heard too many gripes about customer service or fucky withdrawal methods. I’m only looking to start with about 200 bucks on my live account (doing DEMO right now). I’ve got a TD Ameritrade account and would like to use them but I can’t get approved for margins with that little initial capital.
And for part two
So I’m about two months in to this forex game. I was brought in by two of my buddies from HS and they got me signed up with their team on IML Academy ( I know I know). I’ve found that they’re 46 video academy has been just OK. Honestly I find that these “gurus” or leaders are pretty awful at actually teaching and explaining things, though it has done a good job of pointing me in the right direction in being able to research further about certain topics. The team I’m on seems to be very supportive, they don’t push me to do recruiting or anything. Zoom chats at least every day, though 3/4 are about the “winning mentality” with the other 1 being about trading. But even when I tap in for that one those guys are honestly terrible teachers, pretty bad at explaining thought processes and reasoning behind taking certain trades. They’ve got me in two signal chats that usually put up at least 400-1000 pips a week depending on if they’re just doing pairs or if they throw some Indices in there too.
Should I stick around and use the signal chat to at leastbreak even while I learn my way, or just cut my losses and figure all this shit out and be my own self made man? Anyone been in my shoes before, shitty pyramid scheme but has a good team?
Also anyone have thoughts on the harmonic scanner? That’s the tool they have us laying for
TL;DR Anyone have thoughts on FairForex as a broker? Also I’m in IML Academy, find that the videos are pretty bogus but my team is good. Should I stick around?

[META] Recent scam/spam trends.. Or, a peak inside what it's like to moderate /r/forex

After a few...especially trying...interactions with unhappy ban recipients today, I thought it would be fun to share a little info on what moderators do to keep this place clean. :)
The forex industry is full of shady characters. Any industry sitting on the intersection of financial independence, work, and money, is bound to attract them. There are many reasons for this; the lower barrier to entry compared to other markets, the lack of public knowledge on the subject, and greedy human nature to name a few.
Moderating a subreddit dedicated to forex (or anything trading realted for that matter,) presents extra challenges beyond your regular sub. Marketers and scammers are super motivated, and MLM / referral marketing is extremely popular right now, which can turn everyday regular users into sources of spam.
How we currently tackle this problem involves technology (scripts, bots, and automod,) a mod review workflow, and some smart sleuthing when needed.
The mod team and our scripts aren't perfect though... but the few false positives we get are a very, very small fraction of all mod actions taken (~1%.) Unfortunately, that means some otherwise sincere members get handled roughly, and that can really suck.. I wish there was a better way, but the alternative is this place becomes a wild west and starts looking like your gmail spam folder.
That said, here's my personal stats for JUST the last 24 hours:
And I'm just one of the mods. . .
So what scammer and marketing trends are we seeing lately?
Honestly, it can be really frustrating at times.. luckily the scripts we have in place make weeding out ~80% of these jokers quite easy and quick. Heck, we had one scammer who blew through 12+ accounts over the last few days trying to scam people but none of their posts ever saw the light of day thanks to the spam triggers I've written.
What motivates the mod team to keep this place clean? That's an easy answer: The majority of users here are new to trading. Making sure they aren't food for the wolves is important.
But even with all the measures we take, some bad actors still get through.
So here's where you can help: Use the report button! Anytime you see something that you think fits the descriptions listed above, or violates our sidebar rules, just report it. Even if you're not 100% sure, don't be afraid to use the report tool.. The worst thing that can happen is the mod team reviews and approves it, but the best outcome is you directly help keep this place clean and humming! :)
And the mod team is always looking to improve where it can: I've already talked about what we do to scrub away bad actors, but one place we could do better is education. The plan is to rewrite a good portion of the wiki to include the following sections:
(Titles above are a work in progress ;P)
Are you a good writer and want to help out with this? Think you can write up a killer wiki article on spotting scam artists? Message the mods and let us know!
Finally, a reminder, we are still interested in taking on more moderators and will be revisiting that very shortly. If you'd be interested, read through this post and reply accordingly: https://www.reddit.com/Forex/comments/h7ok6k/seeking_more_mods_recruitment_thread/

Top five scams with BTC and cryptocurrencies in Venezuela active this 2020. And maybe other parts. In your countries which states are known?

1-The hacker "El Esteban": He stole cryptocurrencies from accounts abroad .. He was moderately discovered by local authorities but never the identity of the person.
2-IM Mastery Academy (The New Economy). It's actually the same old pyramid scheme born in 2013, iMarketsLive (IML). A supposed academy that will allow you great income in a short time investing with cryptocurrencies and in the stock market.
3-DoubleWay. I think this is one of the most popular, the promise is to join their ETH smart contract and in a few weeks you will level up and have profits, however you had to find people to associate and level up. "All the management of the website is made up of a classic pyramid scheme"
4-FF Token; a Token promoted by a recognized actor in the country, however this currency does not have an investment structure or any roadmap, it is also promoted as "The cryptocurrency that could become the new BTC". Now, the person behind this token already has a history with other scam assets for more than 1500 million dollars.
5-Fergcryptoption: and this last one looks like many other scams. They describe themselves as a company dedicated to cloud mining, trading, and Forex. The omission of data as important as how many miners they own, where they are and how much they mine per day is something that should be noticed at first glance. In other words, it has the biggest red flags of scam.

Comment below on the scams that have become known in their countries.

Imarketslive? Need some forex knowledge

Hey guys I'll make this short and sweet. I'm a senior in highschool and I'm trying to get into forex. I was walking into this bathroom and this random kid comes up to me like a shady drug dealer he's like "yo u wanna make some money get in imarketslive it's just 200 dollars itll help u with forex". Keep in mind this is the 2nd time a kid came up to me with this bullshit. I end up looking this company up and apparently they been sued a whole bunch of times, they get minors to do their dirty work, and ontop of that it's a pyramid scheme. I'm still stuck in a rut tho I'm thinking I got to read all these 500+ page books on how to read charts n shit and understand wtf I'm looking at(I hate reading but ik it's the only great way to obtain knowledge) I'm having a hard time finding good resources and books that actually teach me how to start investing or using forex. Everything is about the philosophy of investing. Can you guys help me out?
